Tramo x Team Rynkeby<\/a><\/h4>\n

As a gold sponsor of Team Rynkeby, we are proud to support their important work in the fight against childhood cancer. Soon it will be time for our colleague Hans Osvalds to hop on his bike and set off for Paris with Team Rynkeby Helsingborg. Ahead of his departure, he shares his thoughts on his commitment, the sense of community, and the challenge that lies ahead. <\/p>\n

Hans says:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Team Rynkeby isn\u2019t just a \u201cbike ride to Paris\u201d\u2014it\u2019s so much more than that, and that\u2019s why I feel it\u2019s worth investing both time and energy in the project. I think we all know someone whose family has been affected by childhood cancer or is connected to it in some way. Since research is constantly advancing but at the same time requires financial resources (with Team Rynkeby being one of the largest contributors), I feel it\u2019s important to do what we can to hopefully one day defeat childhood cancer. <\/p>\n

We have a wonderful sense of camaraderie in the team\u2014perhaps because we span all ages and a wide variety of professions. The youngest participant recently turned 19, and the oldest just turned 63 (guess who\u2026). But we share the same goal, and that\u2019s a tremendous strength and asset\u2014one we\u2019ll need when we soon set out to cycle 130 mil in 6 days. During training sessions, we cheer each other on, share tips and advice, and those of us who are more experienced cyclists act as mentors to those who, before we started training together last fall, had never even sat on a road bike before.
\nAfter plenty of spinning and strength training over the winter and just over 250 mil outdoors this spring, we\u2019re hopefully ready for the \u201cTour de Paris,\u201d which for our team starts in Helsingborg on July 4 with a short ride to Malm\u00f6 via the pediatric oncology ward at Lund University Hospital. Then we\u2019ll head through Germany, Belgium, and France before reaching the outskirts of Paris on July 10, and then, together with all the other Team Rynkeby teams, cycle into Paris on July 11. <\/p>\n

Even though I\u2019ve been training quite a bit and old injuries are starting to act up after many training sessions of 17\u201318 mil, both my body and my mind feel ready for this challenge.<\/p>\n
