Background information
AC motors face problems such as bearing currents and voltage peaks, causing high maintenance costs for millions of motors worldwide. The cause of the problem is inherent in the very principle of FRO operation where asynchronous motors are fed with a frequency modulated voltage wave with several kHz switching frequency. This voltage creates a high-frequency magnetic field around the motor shaft and gives rise to inductively or capacitively transmitted bearing currents.
SWR-M filters out the high frequency components of the supply voltage and thus reduces the amplitude of the common mode voltage that gives rise to the high frequency magnetic field around the motor shaft. With a sinusoidal filter, the life of the motor is extended and the period between services is longer. SWR-M filters out high frequency components of the supply voltage and thus reduces the amplitude of the common mode voltage that gives rise to high frequency magnetic fields around the motor shaft.
Applications
The sine filter can be applied to a variety of applications and requires no intervention on the engine design. We recommend the following applications:
modulated voltage needs to be eliminated
